Expected Results

By the end of the project the GULT team will have developed guidelines for university language testing, particularly in the area of LSP testing, which are based on a task-oriented approach. These guidelines will be available in the GULT handbook and on the project website.

The GULT guidelines will improve university language testing. It will offer general guidelines for LSP testing at university level and will stimulate universities to introduce a task-oriented approach into language testing. This will stimulate the learners to continue language learning as language testing is no longer seen as a method of control and selection, but a means to measure language competence in realistic situations of communication, based on semi-authentic tasks in their field of study / interest.
